Seek God’s Word

August 29, 2021

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22

If you say you believe God’s Word, but that belief does not change your walk, you do not believe God’s Word. It’s not enough to say “Amen” or “good Word” in response to hearing God’s Word, to go to church, or even to listen to a sermon. Those things are important and should not be minimized. But, once you go to church, listen to a preached Word or sermon, the transformation comes in your action…a change in your feet, your mouth (what you say). As the Word of God takes root in your Spirit, there will be changes in your soul (mind, emotions, will, personality). These changes in your soul will impact your actions…what your body does.

Sometimes you may not feel like anything is happening or it may feel like a struggle in your emotions and will- at times- to obey God’s Word and do what He says. Don’t stop! That difficulty is often part of the process/transformation of your new nature (God’s indwelling of His Divine nature taking root in your Spirit). As that new nature grows/develops, it disrupts/brushes up against many of those aspects of our soul that God wants to renew and conform to His Image.

Today, I encourage you to continue to seek God’s Word, His Will, and His Ways for and in every aspect of your life in prayer. Whatever God tells us to do, built into His command(s) is the power for us to obey Him as well. GLORY TO GOD!!! Be encouraged and keep going. His Word says, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
